In August 2023 FINMA announced the conclusion of an agreement on cooperation and exchange of information among the competent supervisory authorities of the respective countries. The agreement paves the way for banks to intensify their activities on the partner country’s territory, through branch offices or similar setup

The FINMA announcement does not provide much information on the exact content of the agreement. Also, financial firms will have to understand the opportunities such an agreement offers to their business development
