NEW Country Manual Tax 2025
CM Tax – UK FIG regime

BRP Tax SA has issued a NEW Country manual Tax for:
United Kingdom FIG regime – (Memo and BT Short)
This new Country Manual Tax is available immediately, without any further action, to all current UK-RND subscribers. The concept of domicile, which has its origins in the old common law, as a relevant connecting factor for UK tax purposes was abolished on 6 April 2025. Going forward, only tax residence will be considered for personal income tax purposes, replacing the domicile-based system. This concept will impact the tax liability on IHT of the taxpayer. As a consequence, the special tax regime for UK non-domiciled is no longer available. The new Foreign Income and Gain (FIG) regime applies to individuals, regardless of their nationality or domicile status, during their first 4 years of residence in the UK, provided they have not been resident in the UK for the previous 10 years. Transitional tax measures have been setup for the following fiscal year(s). Tax Memorandum (MeMo) The Tax memorandum on UK FIG regime is a practical guidance on how to prepare or complete an investment proposal that will take into account the tax impacts for a Private Banking client resident in the United Kingdom (UK) who benefit from the new FIG regime with a custody account outside of United Kingdom. Tax Behaviour Template (BT Short) The Tax Suitability Ratings in the Tax Behaviour Template is aligned with those contained in the TIM. This update is recommended if your subscription includes the digital solution.eporting obligations. |
